What Makes Pressvana Tick

We started Pressvana with a pretty simple idea. The internet has plenty of places telling people what happened, what’s popular, and what everyone is talking about. We wanted to create a place where the people writing those stories actually have something interesting to say about them.

We like good journalism, thoughtful criticism, and writers who aren’t afraid to have opinions. We also believe reading something should be enjoyable, whether it’s a review of a new novel, a discussion about a television finale, or a closer look at something happening in entertainment.

That’s what we’re working toward with Pressvana.

A Little Personality Goes a Long Way

Our writers have their own interests, experiences, preferences, and occasional frustrations. We encourage them to bring those things into their work, provided they can back up what they’re saying.

Someone can love a movie that critics hated. A bestselling novel can be disappointing. A television series everybody seems obsessed with can have serious writing problems.

We think those conversations are worth having.

Of course, opinions aren’t a substitute for facts. We take research, accuracy, and responsible reporting seriously.

Our editorial policy explains how we check facts, approach reviews, and put mistakes right.

If we’re covering news, we want to get the details right. If we’re reviewing something, we want to explain our judgment rather than simply declare it good or bad.

Meet the People Doing the Writing

Our writers are bringing their own perspectives and are not afraid to speak their minds. Time to meet them!

Lola Knox

Lola is our books and publishing writer, with a background in literary journalism and a serious appreciation for good storytelling.

She has a particular weakness for epic fantasy, comic books, and story-driven video games. Give her a fictional world with complicated characters and a history spanning several centuries, and she’ll probably have plenty to say about it.

That doesn’t mean she only reads fantasy. Lola covers literature, authors, publishing news, reading trends, and books across genres. She’s opinionated, curious, and not particularly interested in pretending a book is brilliant just because everybody else likes it.

Stephen Manning

Stephen covers movies, television, and the streaming industry. He’s an experienced entertainment writer with a genuine appreciation for filmmaking.

Korean cinema holds a special place in his heart, particularly crime thrillers and character-driven dramas. He’s just as comfortable discussing a Hollywood blockbuster, an independent film, or a television series that probably should have ended two seasons earlier.

Stephen enjoys looking at what makes a production work, and he doesn’t mind pointing out when something falls short. He keeps things approachable, even when discussing complicated filmmaking decisions.

We’re Just Getting Started

Books, movies, and television are our starting point, not the limits of what Pressvana will cover.

As the website grows, we plan to explore more subjects, introduce new voices, and follow stories that deserve a closer look.

We don’t expect everyone to agree with everything we publish. Frankly, that would make things pretty boring.

What we do want is for people to leave Pressvana feeling they’ve learned something, discovered something interesting, or encountered a perspective they hadn’t considered.

And if an article starts a good conversation, even better. You can always write to us with your side of it.
